Frequently asked questions
Do you have a question about Sugar Calendar display options? See the list below for our most frequently asked questions.
If your question is not listed here, then please contact us.
How do I add a calendar to my page?
If you use the block editor, add the Events Calendar block to any page. If you use Elementor, add the Events Calendar widget. Or use the shortcode anywhere shortcodes are supported.
How do I display an events list?
Use the Events List block in Gutenberg, the Events List widget in Elementor, or the shortcode to show upcoming events in a clean list format anywhere on your site.
Can I show events from specific calendars only?
Yes. Both the calendar and list displays have filter options that let you show events from specific calendars or categories only. This is perfect if you organize events by type, department, or venue.
Can visitors switch between month, week, and day views?
Yes. The Events Calendar block includes view switchers that let visitors toggle between monthly, weekly, and daily views. They can choose whichever view helps them browse events most easily.
Are the displays mobile responsive?
Absolutely. Both calendar and list displays work beautifully on all screen sizes. They automatically adjust to provide the best experience whether your visitors are on phones, tablets, or desktop computers.
Can I customize the look of the calendar and list?
Yes. The displays automatically inherit your theme’s styles, so they match your site’s design. You can also add custom CSS for further styling if needed. Dark mode is supported by default.
Do I need to use shortcodes or can I use blocks?
You can use either. If you prefer the block editor or Elementor, use the dedicated blocks and widgets. If you prefer shortcodes or need to add events to areas that don’t support blocks, shortcodes work perfectly.
Are calendar and list displays included in the free version?
Yes! Both the Events Calendar block and Events List block are available in Sugar Calendar Lite. You can display your events in calendar or list format right away at no cost.
