How do I create a venue?

Go to Sugar Calendar in your WordPress dashboard and click on Venues. Click Add New Venue, then enter the venue name, address, contact details, description, and any other information. Save it, and the venue is ready to use for any event.

Do I need a Google Maps API key?

Yes, to display Google Maps on your event pages, you’ll need a Google Maps API key. You can get one for free from the Google Cloud Console. Once you have it, enter it in Sugar Calendar settings and maps will display automatically.

Can I create multiple venues?

Yes, there’s no limit to the number of venues you can create. Add as many locations as you need and assign them to different events. Perfect if you host events at multiple locations or tour different cities.

How do I assign a venue to an event?

When creating or editing an event, you’ll see a Venue section in the event details. Simply select the venue from the dropdown menu, and all the venue information will automatically appear on your event page.

What happens if I update a venue’s information?

When you edit a venue, all events assigned to that venue automatically show the updated information. If a venue changes its address or phone number, you only need to update it in one place.

Can I add images to venues?

Yes, you can upload a featured image for each venue. This helps attendees recognize the location and gives them a visual preview of where the event will take place.

Do venues work with recurring events?

Absolutely. When you assign a venue to a recurring event, all occurrences in the series automatically inherit that venue. Perfect for weekly classes or monthly meetups at the same location.
